Marcus brings a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and proven leadership capability to McQueen, shaped through both educational and hands‑on experience in high‑performance environments. He has worked extensively as a rowing coach at Scotch College and Brighton Grammar, supporting athlete development and fostering disciplined, team‑focused cultures. Early in his career, Marcus also founded and successfully ran his own services business, demonstrating a strong entrepreneurial mindset before relocating overseas to continue his studies.

Marcus spent four and a half years at the University of California, Berkeley, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology alongside a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. During this time, he balanced academic commitments with competitive rowing and held the role of Boathouse Manager, overseeing daily operations within a demanding collegiate sporting environment.

Outside of work, Marcus enjoys staying active through exercise, camping, and dirt‑bike riding - particularly around Robe and Beachport in South Australia. Family and friends remain central to his life. Guided by the belief that “the joy is in the doing,” Marcus is also the proud owner of one cow, part of a personal passion for farming that he enjoys pursuing outside of work.
